Shri D. Balamurali(2007 Batch), IAS assumes charge as Regional Officer, Central Board of Film Certification, Chennai

Born in a nondescript Ponnavarayankottai village of Thanjavur District, Shri D. Balamurali did his schooling in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Naattusaalai before graduating in Chemical & Electrochemical Engineering from Central Electro Chemical Research Institute, Karaikudi. He worked in the corporate world for a couple of years before taking a plunge in the Govt. sector.

He cracked the Civil Services in 2012 and was allotted IAS, Kerala Cadre. During his tenure in the Kerala Govt., he was the Collector of Palakkad and Pathanamthitta districts. Balamurali has headed several key departments including Kerala Tourism Development Corporation and Kerala Medical Services Corporation.

Prior to taking up the Charge of Regional Officer, CBFC, Chennai, Shri Balamurali was the Commissioner of Rural Development Department and Principal Director, Local Self Govt. (Kerala).
